A TANAH MERAH music lover has played an instrumental part in a musical mission to the bush.
When the Rural Aid Gift of Music program put a shout out for people to send in their old, unused instruments, Evan Williams stepped up to the podium.
Although he could not provide the instruments, he said he could orchestrate the repairs.
The charity, which distributes instruments to children in rural, remote, and outback indigenous schools, was delighted and this week picked up 15 restored violins and a cello. The instruments will be taken on the Gift of Music tour to Dalby and Roma in the June school holidays with the Brisbane Regional Youth Orchestra, with conductors Sean Dorney and Erin Thomson both from Logan.
